August EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. [game info]: Sinfluencers is a social media inspired sex game where characters are brought in after having agreed (one way or another) to a contract involving them working for SIN, the company at the center of the game, in exchange for a wish once they reach the peak of fame. The playerbase is very enthusiastic, there's a lot of scope for fun, interesting posts as characters work out their niche and try new things, and the mod is extremely helpful about getting player ideas happening. There's a lot of good opportunities for CR building and a range of options to engage with the setting, including motivation built in to engage in the smut aspects of the setting (as this is required for characters to rank up and cash in on their wish) without building it into AC. There's also a mission system and a lot of breadth for running player plots, which can also produce rewards similarly to a mission depending on the complexity of the plot. AC is 20 comments across a maximum of 4 threads, and while the game has a bit of a lean towards network content there's plenty of opportunities for in-person shenanigans as well.
The next TDM is on August 16th, and there's an EMP planned to go up on the 11th for interested players to swing by!

[game info]: Sinfluencers is a game where your character signs a contract for something they really want, and in return, they have to become an influencer for the multiverse! Slightly OnlyFans (though cameras by default cut out during the actual act of sex unless you want otherwise), slightly Instagram, all hilarious and super flexible with an amazing, helpful, engaged mod! Try to get your character up to Platinum Tier, and on the way, gain sponsors, drum up engagement, have some sex, and get famous!
Sin's AC is 20 comments across no more than 4 threads, but any type of in-game thread, network or otherwise, can be used for that. The game is, by design, heavily network-based, so it's easy to rack up the comments (and extra for gacha-style AC rewards!). In order to advance through the tiers, you need to submit smut threads, but they don't have to be completed to count -- just have at least 5 comments from you! There is no smut requirement for regular AC, though.
Apps are bi-monthly and reserves open on August 18th, with apps on the 23rd. Come play on the new TDM when it goes up on August 16th!

Pumpkin Hollow is a collaborative mystery horror-comedy game where players work together to gather clues and discover the mystery behind why an island village in a pseudo-Victorian fantasy world has been separated from the rest od the world by a magical barrier. It has rich and complex NPCs that feel like PCs, offers all players opportunities to get in on the elaborate meta plot, has opt-out options for events with more intense horror themes, and has been noted by players as a great place to play at any pace. Super easy AC with incentives for effort and activity.
PH is a great environment for TMA/P characters, encouraging them to stretch their skills in the paranormal. We're also looking to play out messy interpersonal drama (especially wrt Basira) and the mods have an interesting plot beat planned if we get an Elias.
Additionally, we're looking to recruit some guest-written bad guys for our upcoming Halloween event who will be invited by one of our game's Big Bads and treated to their hearts' desires in exchange for hunting and attempting to kill player characters, all in the name of an infernal betting ring. More details will be available closer to Halloween, but here's our Villain's Lounge TDM!

[game info]: Sinfluencers is a sex game that explores concepts like online communities, clout, and consumerism in a really unique and exciting way that I don't think is really represented elsewhere! Your character will come in with a wish that they have to work to achieve, but then there's all this extra luxe stuff and they're not going to go without THAT too, are they?
I think some people have a misconception about Sinf that it's all online only or you need a huge background in social media/influencer spaces to be able to thrive here. It's the opposite! We have plenty of opportunities for CR all over, you're just on camera in certain events and can opt into the online stuff through quests and other REWARD-ORIENTED objectives! Seriously, we have a working gacha machine and it's A+++ stuff. Also Karlach just got a monster ranch? So if any BG baddies wanna keep to the camp aesthetic, she's definitely building a space for that now. Overall, it's an incredibly fun and lively game full of really passionate players and I'd love to see more people come in! I'd really like to note especially that our mod is very rewarding when it comes to players exercising their creative chops and it has been a dream to integrate into this setting as a character who isn't used to Big Tech World.
AC is a lot easier than you might think, 20 comments across no more than 4 threads which is easy pie if you hit up one of the Shitpost Fridays. This IS a smut game, but the mod is very cool about FTB if that's more your style, you just need 5 comments into the thread and you're cool.

[game info]: "Singillatim is a Post-Apocalyptic Survival game heavily inspired by Hinterland Studios' The Long Dark, set on an alternate earth on remote island territory cut off from the mainland and rest of the world, in the vague, furthest reaches of Northern Canada.
Gameplay focuses on character development and character stories, with survival / post-apocalyptic themes, and some supernatural / folk horror thrown in for good measure. Characters are de-powered, with chances to gain powers within the game setting. There is no network.
Characters find themselves transported from their home worlds and stranded in a wild, empty world of eternal winter thanks to strange geological/geomagnetic shifts which has effected nature and man alike. There's no escape. Only the Auroras can signal the comings and goings of this place, and they may be both a blessing and a curse to you. Create groups for survival, scavenge for supplies, learn the harsh ways of mother nature (now warped by the Aurora's power) and survive.
... and avoid the Darkwalker, at all costs."
Small, chill little survival game. There is permadeath so be aware of that. Characters have been there up to a year now and are establishing a society with a few hiccups. Levi just tried to assassinate a guy! Lots of Mysteries to try and figure out, or just try to make friends and survive the cold.
The AC is super easy (5 comments a month). App cycle is bi-monthly, but we're near cap so can't promise there'll be one in two months!
Please Levi is so lonely no one else knows about his country or his Gods.

[game info]: Smut game taking place in a 5 star resort/casino. There's a ton of things to do, with some supernatural aspects depending on locations and ways for characters to get fucked up. Sunday was given a 6 rank and he's trying to get to a higher rank so he can figure out a way to escape or go back home, not that he has a home to go back to due to his canon point but yanno. It's fun using the mechanics provided, like suit activation and the events are always neat to dab into to offer new ways for characters to interact and build cr. The TDM is this month but since invites have already been processed as of .. yesterday lol, we can always test out our writing in memes until the next round of invites to see if we vibe? PSL post.
I'd personally love to build a ship - even though it won't be exclusive when it comes to sex - with either Sparkle or Gallagher and get Sunday messed up emotionally as well as him having powerful smut/drama/angst/ I also am a huge fan of negative cr. Fluff is great too.

[game info]: SINfluencers is a sex game, but it's not all about that! It's very social media oriented so there's stuff like videos (Lehna has hosted Thot Ones, where she interviews people and they eat spicy wings, for example!). The gacha is really fun too where you get random rewards and random shenanigans happen.
The game is pretty fast-paced but everyone is incredibly friendly and also incredibly backtag friendly. As far as smut goes, FTB is fine for rewards as well so there's no pressure to do anything you're uncomfortable with.
The AC is 20 comments across max 4 threads, but it's actually surprisingly easy because there's a lot of network threads that count. That said, we also have a lot of regular tags since network stuff isn't for everyone. But I promise, 20 isn't as scary as it seems (I was nervous about it too, but I'm thinking about apping another character--and I'm a relatively slow tagger compared to others here).

Characters who died or were about to die that could be redeemed can come here as Inmates with a chance to graduate and return to life. Characters willing to aid in this in exchange for an impossible wish being granted serve as Wardens, these people's keepers and counselors.
Game pace is pretty quick, with monthly events and AC is generally two proofs, each either a post or 15+ comments in someone else's.

In Expiation, your character is accused of a crime (one they actually committed or one they definitely didn't) and told to await their sentencing. The crimes can be whatever you want and you are encouraged to be creative.

As for FFXIV shenanigans: Fandaniel here is mostly in scientist mode, trying to figure out how the world works. He is a little bit more agreeable because his biggest goal is to get back home and resume dying (he's taken from just after The Dark Inside). So if he has to cooperate with others for a bit so be it. Still probably gonna try to destroy the world at some point but for different reasons this time he swears.
I'm an active tagger these days. Possibly obnoxiously active and I boomerang. These days. I do not expect anyone to match my speed, especially since I doubt I'll match it a couple of months from now myself.

Characters arrive in Expiation accused of a crime (either of the player's choosing or assigned by the mods) and are told to await their sentencing without further explanation. Applications are bi-monthly and will open on August 24th while the reserves will open on August 22nd; the new TDM will go live on Monday, August 12th! The AC requirements are 15 comments a month across 2-3 threads. The player cap at the moment is 59/70.

In Expiation, all new arrivals are assigned a crime, and are there for rehabilitation. Characters are forced to face their previous crimes, whether it be during sentencing, or during events. Events are bimonthly, with TDMs and Sentencing occurring on the opposite months. The TDM goes live 8/12, Reserves open on 8/21, and Apps open on 8/24! The current player cap is 59/70! AC is 15 comments, across 2 to 3 threads, with no strike system currently in place.

Kaiju missions are bimonthly with downtime in between, and there are two event logs per month! Our player cap is currently at 47/60, but Hoyoverse has a shared cast cap at 5/8. It can be fast paced but it's very backtag friendly!

AC Requirements: 20 points across 3 threads or less (this amounts to 10 log comments or 20 network comments.)
- You can also accumulate bonus points to buy items and upgrades for your character, as well as pool your points with other players to buy big upgrades for the base! There's a spa facility coming in on September bought by the playerbase!

[game info]: Expiation centers around redeeming yourself for your supposed (or actual) crimes that you pick upon application. Sentencing can and will occur, but most often you are able to control (or sign-up for) when you want your character to be smacked with the consequences. Consequences vary at the moment, but typically it focuses on pushing your character out of their comfort zone or giving them largely lovely psychological effects. Sometimes physical! Anyway, a mysterious NPC (Jerry) is the one usually handing out the consequences, but he's mysteriously absent this month. The world of Aldrip is growing increasingly unstable and with the emergence of a new AI (no thanks to the nerds here - Star Trek definitely played a role), things are looking pretty dicey!
TDM should be going up tomorrow 08/12 and we are nearing cap! AC is 15 comments a month over two-three threads.

[game info]: Duplicity is a sex game that revolves around kinks and character's reactions. You're either a Dominant or a Submissive (although there are events where it can change, so if you want to switch you designation, it will likely come up again at some point). There are quotas and contracts, but a/c can just be regular interactions from a variety of different sources (network post, open log, comments, tdm replies). There are monthly events that go on, plus regular interactions of trying to navigate the dynamics of the game. While a sex game, the ac proofs do not need to be.

[game info]: As others in this thread have summed up before me, Sinfluencers is a game about becoming influencers via a Youtube/Only Fans-like setup (you can be sexy, crafty, silly, serious, whatever you think would work for your character!) and completing a contract your character signs up for prior to entering the game.
This game is lending itself to be very lucrative for character-driven plots and the playerbase is incredibly creative, funny, and active! The Mod has been amazingly helpful and open to all sorts of ideas, while encouraging plenty of others!
It's honestly been a lot of fun, it's easy to stay busy, and I would absolutely love to have some castmates here to do all the things with 💖 And if some want to play The Game here, I would love to see it 👑

[wanted]: Fig Faeth, Kristen Applebees, Ayda, Tracker, Sam nightingale; any of the seven or the rat grinders.
[game info]: Etraya is a panfandom mission-esque game, though with missions that can range from mingling in an American suburban environment, to having teddy bears turn you obsessive over them unless they're destroyed (and you really don't want those teddy bears destroyed).
AC is check-in with a reward system that allows people to recover items, or even to bring buildings into the setting! Reserves open on the 16th, with apps opening on the 23rd. This is our current TDM, but if you would like to wait for something fresh, a new one is scheduled to go up on the 4th September!
The gang come from a range of canonpoints, with Riz and Aewlyn being from season 2 (+ Aewlyn coming in with Apocalypse How CRAU), and Fabian, Gorgug, and Adaine being from different points of season 3! The cast is happy to answer any questions and also to help with icons if necessary.

It's important to note that things aren't always what they seem. Be prepared for some potential surprises along the way.
Everyone wakes up in/around the city of Aldrip and finds they've been assigned a crime and are supposed to be there to await sentencing. Crimes may be serious, bullshit or even something your character hasn't done. While they're waiting for sentencing characters are free to explore the city of Aldrip and its surrounding areas. Right now things are a little fucked up, but that just makes things interesting, right? Lately something seems to be broken, though...
We're close to cap, but apps are still open for now! AC is 15 comments a month and strikes are not allowed but you can buy a free pass to use whenever with activity reward system. Or buy other fun things with it!

Characters arrive in Expiation accused of a crime (either of the player's choosing or assigned by the mods) and are told to await their sentencing without further explanation. They can explore the world to discover its past and secrets, as well as influence the way it develops onwards, while trying to figure out the reason behind their arrival there.
Applications are bi-monthly and will open on August 24th while the reserves will open on August 22nd; the new TDM is available HERE! The AC requirements are 15 comments a month across 2-3 threads. The player cap at the moment is 56/70.
