ENABLEMEPLZ meme goes up on the Second Saturday of every month FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / kink you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme. ➤ The meme is for fiction-based RP only (with the only exception being involvement of fictionalized historical figures or historical settings.) ➤ Important note: IP logging has turned on due to multiple instances past and present of problem players trying to return to the dwrp community via emp after being banned other places, so I'll be IP logging from now on, and will compare notes with the rpa and wg mods (as well as game mods) where appropriate if it seems like someone that has been mass banned. I will not pay attention to IPs otherwise. I don't care what people like playing or who's who. So please feel comfortable to keep doing your thing, anon or otherwise. The knowledge will only be used for really egregious problem cases.

FOR NAGISA
Looking for castmates and cross-canon! I'm mostly looking for gen shenanigans to let him be the slightly eccentric but very pretty dumbass that he is. His squad from his own game would be really fun — Lufel, Motoha, Shun, Riko, and Shoki would all make my RP dreams come true — but since I imagine that those are all long shots at this point, I'm happy to play Nagisa against anyone else from the Persona series, or against similar characters that might be hanging out in Tokyo. I'm also fine with playing our characters as strangers or with assumed CR — he's really just a nice, chill guy who gets along with most types of people.

Lastly, shipping is not a major priority of mine right now and I mostly just want to play Nagisa against anyone that will interact with him, but I do like to ship him with Joker if you're down for that!

I also have a couple of PSL ideas involving the P5(R)/P5X timeline... I was originally going to wait a little longer to list these, but it doesn't seem like anyone is like, terribly invested in this game (besides me), so I'm just going to go ahead and spoil it below. Please don't click if you're not fine with massive spoilers for P5X!

THREAD IDEAS

THE TIME LOOP
It is very strongly implied that Nagisa has been looping through different timelines: Igor's first words to him are "We meet again," he's been shown having visions of alternate timelines, and at several points in time, he uses these visions to give him information that he shouldn't otherwise know. Cognitive Joker's one ominous warning to him is "resist it" — most probably, resist temptation. Because of this and some other implications in his game, I want to assume that P5X takes place in a timeline in which Yaldabaoth's bargain from P5 was taken, Yaldabaoth has stolen humanity's desires, and Nagisa's character trajectory is one in which he will ultimately restore free will to humanity.

I kind of want to go wild with this and cast Nagisa as a mysterious interloper in your character's life who is fully aware that he's been looping through multiple timelines. I just think it might be fun, and it takes advantage of the fact that, in most cases, I'm probably canon-familiar with your character but you aren't canon-familiar with mine. Nagisa shows up in your life and claims to know many things about you — does know many things about you — but it's unsettling, isn't it, that you don't know anything about him? He's very nice, he's very sweet, but what he wants is such a mystery, and maybe he shouldn't be trusted...

This prompt will work with most of the P5 characters, but for shipping with Joker specifically, I'm happy to throw in the element that Nagisa has most likely been looping through time to save him! I just love... time loopers who do it for the one person they're down bad for...

LUCIFER'S PROXY
Similarly, there is a very credible theory that Lufel, Nagisa's Morgana equivalent, is in fact Lucifer, in the flavor of Shin Megami Tensei's Louis Cyphre. (It goes beyond what this Redditor mentioned; I'm of the opinion that it's basically spelled out in the game that Lufel is Lucifer.) I also agree with a theory proposed in the comments that Merope, Nagisa's elegant Velvet Room assistant, is most likely meant to be Lucifer's attendant from the SMT games.

The exact nature of what this means for Nagisa is unclear. As far as predicting the plot goes, I don't actually think that Lufel will turn out to be "evil" — P5 itself ends with Joker summoning Satanael to reject Yaldabaoth's will, so being in cahoots with a demon isn't usually considered "evil" within the Persona 5 canon. However, most players have also come to the conclusion that the "Wonder" who appears during the Wonder vs. Joker fight sequence at the beginning of the game is probably Lufel disguised as Wonder, given the hood and white mask, which Nagisa doesn't usually wear. This could mean any number of interesting things...

For RP purposes, I would love to go wild with the idea that Nagisa's character trajectory may be to become one with Lucifer or fuse with Lucifer (Lucifer has done this before in SMT games, though it usually means that the person fusing with him has to effectively die). Put more simply: give me evil sexy Nagisa-as-Lucifer, advocating for humanity to be free to pursue its own desires, tempting your character into rebellion against God...

I could also play this out with some angst on Nagisa's part — perhaps he regrets the bargain he struck with Lucifer or knows that he sacrificed a normal life to be a pawn in a greater game? Message me and we can work something out!

FOR WILL
Looking for castmates and cross-canon! I'm completely open to writing gen against anyone from Metaphor: ReFantazio. I'm also interested in AUing Will into other Atlus canons, such as Persona, Catherine, and the Shin Megami Tensei games. (I have a section in his journal which explains the general premise I'd be running with for that, but can change things up as needed.)

For castmates, I'd love to play out scenarios of all sorts: scenes set during the course of the game, scenes that happen post-game, fix-it canon divergent scenarios where nobody dies, modern-day AU shenanigans, etc. I'm very into fluff, domestic slice-of-life, and hurt/comfort, but I'm equally fond of political drama, writing background NPCs, and complicated plots. As far as ships go, I really only ship Will with Strohl and Louis. I'm pretty open to other M/M castmate ships too if you're super big on shipping and really want to make the boys kiss, but by default, I'll keep Will's other relationships platonic or intensely intimate without actually becoming romantic unless you specifically tell me that you'd like romantic content with Will. Other personal favorite characters include Hulkenberg, Brigitta, Basilio, and Alonzo, but I can play against anyone.

I think it'll be better for both of us if we just bounce off each other on memes for a bit before launching into a huge PSL, but if you're interested in jumping straight into something plotty, here are some ideas for threads that I'd like to have! I have a million ideas for Louis and Strohl on my journal, but for some general starting thoughts, please see below (and warning for spoilers):

YOUR HIGHNESS
I am fully, fully behind the game's final reveal that Will and the prince are actually the same person...! However, early on in the game I must confess that I was braced for an eventual "Will is the prince's half-brother" reveal. I do still kind of like the idea of "Will and the prince are separate people," usually in a context where I'd like to explore Will's early-game lack of value for himself and being willing to die for the prince's safety. I'd love to play something out where one of Will's companions has to deal with the disturbing lack of faith he has in himself, and the seemingly infinite faith he has in a boy who hasn't been truly alive for years...

That being said, I can also take the other half of this: I can write the prince! I'm happy to write the prince as his own character against anyone else, even other Wills. (I, uh, have a special fondness for Louis/Prince too, I must admit.) My personal preference would be to have Will be named Will and the prince be named Wilhelm. Let me know if you'd like to hash this out and get more specific about how this prompt takes shape.

THE ANNEX WAR
I am also a very big fan of taking advantage of the unexplored outside world as well as the game's background lore! This could involve sending Will and his thread partner to another country, of course, but I'm also interested in fleshing out the scenario where "What if another country actually did attack Euchronia at the beginning of the game when the king died like some NPCs were concerned about?" as well as "What if another country invaded Euchronia while Will was the king?" This could provide some interesting reasons for Will to lean on Louis's military expertise, or put the newly minted General Haliaetus to task, too...

▮ Slow tags are fine! I'm, uh, actually kind of fast these days, so you shouldn't have to wait more than 3-4 days for a tag. But I can be slower than that when work is mean to me, so please don't be surprised if I suddenly need, like, 1-2 weeks to respond.
