September EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / kink you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme. ➤ The meme is for fiction-based RP only (with the only exception being involvement of fictionalized historical figures or historical settings.) [game info]: Karteria is a dark fantasy game with horror elements in which characters are brought to a world on the path to destruction from a widespread mineral called Katalyth which causes mental and physical deterioration when people are exposed to it. Characters are given Augmenters, containing a "Natural Soul" which helps them resist Katalyth and be able to travel outside the barriers surrounding major cities, as well as the ability to shift into a powerful form based on what kind of Natural Soul they have...but at the cost of slowly corrupting their form to reflect their Natural Soul as well. Whether they want to assist in saving the world, travel and explore areas which have been previously inacessible, make a name for themselves within the cities, or otherwise make change (for better or worse), the game has many options for directions to take and a reputation system through which character actions can affect public opinion on the Augmented.

shadytotally normal scientific organization, has implanted another soul into your character's body, turning them into a special hybrid entity called an "Augmented." They've done this because they're about two seconds away from an apocalypse that only you, the Augmented, can help them stave off. You get some cool, soul type-specific powers as a result of this implant at the cost of your original body becoming "corrupted" over time. The mods encourage player creativity here, and they are receptive even to the dumbest/wildest ideas -- Elan Prime, for example, can "shift" into the form of a giant robot because he shares his body with a permet soul.We've got a TDM up right now; reserves open on the 20th. [game info]: Karteria is an art-deco monster transformation game! Characters have been brought in and received a Natural Soul as a part of their introduction into the world. Once brought in, characters are told that the world they've been brought to is in danger - and so is their home world. Cooperation with Patho-Gen, a group of scientists in Karteria, will help to fix this world and save your own.
Karteria itself has so far been a rich world with tons of details for the intrepid or investigative character, and the world reacts to the choices of the newly Augmented arrivals. Karteria opened in April of this year and is fairly plot-heavy if you get involved, but there are tons of ways to play with the setting both in and outside of event details and you can find your niche. The mods of the game are very "yes, and--" or "no, but--" and provide hooks for things.
Castmates are happy to help you voicetest even if you don't end up apping. We can also help you find icons or bounce ideas for monster stuff if you'd like.

If I'm being super greedy, I would love to see a Thomas Barrow in the game. I am a shameless, thirsty shipper, and it would be great to see Edward and Thomas get some closure.
[game info]: Imagine a road trip through the wastes of a Mad Max movie, while everyone is also slowly turning into monsters, and that's basically the game. Characters are part of a convoy traveling across a doomed world, and the longer they're there, the more they shift into some kind of monster. You can pick and choose the monster traits your character gets, although they will have a base monster form (which you can also choose, or ask the mods to randomise it). There's also a Monster of the Month, where players can test out new and different traits in-game and then decide if they'd like to keep them.
AC is five comments a month, and the pace is mediumish. It's great fun, come join us!

[game info]: Pixie Led is a dark fantasy RP inspired by the traditional interpretations of the Fae. It is an invite-only mission game with an emphasis on the more unsettling side of folklore. Characters are spirited away by faeries and whisked away to their realm where they get adopted by one of the Fairy Courts, bestowing them with new abilities, a new mission, and a new home.

[game info]: Karteria's genres include dark fantasy, monster transformation, horror, and surely some elements I'm neglecting to mention. The world of Karteria is ravaged by an arcane mineral called Katalyth, a byproduct of a dying world that can kill and mutate the average human. Patho-Gen, the leading name in science and medicine, has found that imbuing otherworldly travelers with a second bestial soul (Natural Souls) makes them hardier in the face of arcane radiation—and their goal is to understand it, and save their planet. These Natural Souls, however, disfigure their hosts as well... Some dark things have come to light in the past six months, but so far all of the Augmented Ones (player characters) have fought to do right by the world.
Some fun mention-worthy tidbits for UT/DR characters: monsters are more susceptible to Katalyth's influence of despair; there's no power loss as long as it doesn't break the setting; if your character is a robot they get treated like a lesser being by Karterians (oof)...

[game info]:Anyone from the class 431+ or earlier. Having younger members meet older Izuku would be interesting. Izuku being upset and freaking out about them being stuck in the situation he cannot save them from, would be heartbreaking. As a quick understanding, Izuku wouldn't want to do anything with them, but he does know a lot of people within their age range to refer them to.
Having younger Pro Heroes meet Older Izuku would be funny too and neat.
That said, anyone is cool.
It's a horror pandering sex game, meaning it will lean into Dark Themes. Everyone is good with CWing the content, and there is a friendly atmosphere. The plot is very open-ended and sandboxy, making it a great way to make your own fun in it.

The Mod team is great and very interactive, with the current cast of people wonderful with backtagging and easy to fall into tagging with. Although a bit slower(than what I was originally introduced to and used to), the backtagging and being able to tag at your own pace is a great prospect personally. It's easy to make your own fun, drop, or re-engage.
The story is currently up in the air(meaning I don't know too much about it), but they have a wonderful page to go over any information you are looking for. Find that Information Here. That said, from what I understand, some inner happenings is going on in the Down (submissive area basically), making it a bit turbulent at this time. Again, sandbox fun!

[wanted]: SO MANY CHARACTERS. From P5, definitely the other Phantom Thieves, with a special interest in Morgana, Ann, and Ryuji from our Ren player, and Haru, Futaba, and Sumire from me. That being said, Sae, Makoto, Sojiro, Maruki... so many P5 characters would be delightful. Both Akechi and Ren are post-Royal!
Tbh, I'd even take a Shido for the potential intrigue that would bring.
For Persona 4, Naoto and Kanji are probably the big ones for me, but we'd both adore Yu and the Investigation Team as a whole, along with Dojima and Adachi. Marie would also be super fun!
For P3, Ken is my biggest wish along with Shinji, but either protagonist, the other SEES members, Ryoji, and Chidori would all be fantastic! Aigis would make such a cool Iron Valiant.
For older Persona, my biggest wants are Jun Kurosu and Reiji Kido due to the potential awesome CR with Akechi, but with an IS Maya on the TDM, it'd be rad to see Eikichi, Tatsuya (either timeline), Katsuya, and Ulala. Yukino would be excellent, and any of the P1 gang would be rare unicorns that I'd quite enjoy!
And for spinoffs, Sho Minazuki is my big dream CR, but I'm also very fond of Sophia and Zenkichi from Strikers, Guernica from Tactica's DLC, Labrys, and both Toshiro and Erina. [game info]: The Diadem is an invite-only panfandom game set in a lawless retro-futuristic, ever-morphing world where uprooted souls find themselves deep within an eerie wasteland of roads and highways frequently assailed by cosmic storms. Three united strongholds keep the population thriving—as much as they can. Travel and exploration are emphasized. Major themes are survival, creeping dread, action, and cosmic horror.
We have bi-monthly events. As an example of them, we had a horror one where mannequins haunted and then copied people's bodies to cause havoc, and then an emotion-sharing event leading to a new empath bond between characters. We have an EMP/ATP up now, and the next TDM drops on Friday the 19th.

[game info]: Karteria is a horror/monster-y fantasy game set in a fictional 1920s-inspired city with exploration opportunities for the surrounding areas. The main premise is that there's a destructive radioactive material called Katalyth and PCs are brought in and given "Natural Souls," making them resistant to Katalyth but also giving them one of several choices of animal/monster transformation. There's also a general reputation system as the locals are not too fond of the Augmented.

[game info]: ok so i'm bad at describing game premises etc, bear with me. folkmore is a check-in AC panfandom game (locked comms, invite-only) with taylor swift-shaped theming splashed on for color. characters are brought in, given a ~role~ which has features you can play with as much or as little as you want, and essentially the whole thing is about exploring character potential and development through Trials (aka events)! honestly it's pretty chill/slow and opportunities range from lighthearted to potential for angst. there's lots of room to either slice of life or make some of your own drama. for more of a vibe read, the latest TDM is here and there are other TDMs on the comm to check out!

[game info]: Pixie Led is a pan-fandom semi-private mission-style fantasy roleplaying game with an emphasis on the more unsettling side of folklore, mythology, and legend. Characters are led astray by the Fae and whisked away to their realm where they get adopted by one of the Fairy Courts, bestowing them with new abilities, a new mission, and a new home.
The game requires an invite (which are closed currently) to app/reserve but you can receive one via someone in game or a moderator here. They open up again on September 22nd and the new TDM was posted on September 15th. Invites are not necessary to TDM! Activity checks are check-in only and there is a spreadsheet here. Invites are open from the 18th - 21st, Reserves are open from the 20th - 23rd and Applications are open from the 22nd - 27th.
I'll be spamming this on all the EMPs until I catch all the Merlins. Even if you don't intend to app, we would love to goof off with you on the TDM. We can even pretend that series didn't come out almost twenty years ago. Sorry, folks, if I have to suffer so do you. Come point and laugh at Arthur buttering toast with a steak knife and somehow ending up with TBI #45. They need an adult, the shenanigans are vast, and no one is there to corral them. They are frat boys with too much power, Merlin needs backup.

[game info]: Pumpkin Hollow is a tongue-in-cheek horror comedy with both a big overarching mystery and plenty of opportunity for smaller character-driven moments. It's very backtag-friendly, has check-in AC with the opportunity to earn bonuses if you do more (most of us do a lot more, lol), and holds engaging monthly events. We just passed Year 2, so while a lot of the mystery has been solved, there are still a few big plot moments ahead in the year and a half of gameplay remaining! Plus, us folks in the MASH cast have found the 4077th integrates really well into the setting -- who better to take on terrifying monthly disasters than an army hospital unit?
Our latest TDM just went up a couple days ago, and I'm hoping to throw Radar onto it in the next few days if you'd like an in but don't want to write up a whole TL. Hope to see you there!
