September EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / kink you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme. ➤ The meme is for fiction-based RP only (with the only exception being involvement of fictionalized historical figures or historical settings.) simpingrespect dynamic and would love to explore it more both in canonverse (behind the scenes, the shift from adversaries to friends for Erwin/Levi, buddy comedy aspects of Levi/Hange, etc) or in AUs (literally no limit on this one, but some of my favorites off the top of my head are witch/familiar, organized crime, college/SOL, supernatural (not the show...unless), cyber/solarpunk, and various dystopian (Mad Max, Hunger Games, etc) prompts.) Things in between are also an option - what-ifs, canon divergence, reincarnation or whatever else is your jam.Also that size difference /fingerguns
For crosscanon/crossmedium, it's honestly very vibes-based. He won't get along with someone haughty and normally doesn't mix well with evil OR lawful good. He comes from extreme poverty and has a good deal of class consciousness as well as aversion to all forms of exploitation. He has a lot of empathy and cares about people (both close to him and in general) but also has the personality of a cactus so it can take some work to get close to him. His preference is tall people, he also seems to have a soft spot for smart folks, yappers, passionate nerds, and leaning slightly toward guys or nb people but if there's good chemistry he doesn't care that much about gender.
[game/psl info]: I usually craft these on the go together with who I'm writing with, but I do have a gdoc of prompts to start off with that I'll share with you if you'd like and build from there (or start our own). I'm open to suggestions as well.
I'm a bit slow at the moment, and I'm also in GMT so backtag-friendliness is a requirement as I'm rarely around to boomerang. I lean toward longer tags with introspection, and while I don't need or expect that to be matched all the time (and sometimes a few words is all that's needed for rule of funny), I tend to lose steam if all I'm getting are oneliners.
I'm also happy to test the waters in a meme or a one-off scenario to see how our writing meshes before plotting anything longer-term.

[why]: I'd love to explore the two of them and their relationship in a romantic/shippy setting. Whether that's because the two of them were betrothed instead, or they just have their thing on the side, or any other reason. I'm here for all of them. [why]: I mean. Why not?? There's so much possible tension and connection there, both accounting for both of their connection to Helen aside from that! Some of the way Menelaus talks about Paris in the Iliad before the duel (how the variant where he uses 'ate/delusion' has an excusing flavour, for example!) and the very sexually-tinged language both Helen and Hektor use... ;)
[game/psl info]: Things I'd want in general: Playing out those nine days before Menelaus leaves, either as merely UST or a full-blown, developed mutual thing; tension of love-hate etc during the war as they meet in non-combat circumstances, or canon divergences to take the war in a different direction. AUs in general, whether canon divergence or more freer!
There's a rare variant where Menelaus goes to Troy first, needing to sacrifice at a couple tombs; I'd love to play that out, with a same sort of either UST only or developing into a fully realized mutual thing as above.
Dragon Age: Hawke/Varric, Hawke/Cullen

[why]: With Hawke/Varric WE WERE ROBBED! They're just so much fun together, and I want to explore more of that. Especially with a slowburn towards the romantic. And honestly I remember reading somewhere that they almost put in a post-script scene of the two of them talking where he was all "don't worry, I didn't tell her about us" and I like that. I like that a lot. And as for Hawke/Cullen… they would just be really INTERESTING together, I think?
[game/psl info]:PSL-land is where it's at for me, and I mostly want to play around with canon. And AU!canon. Specifically an Inquisitor!AU where Hawke ends up Inquisitor. I just think it would be extremely fun to explore that with Varric, and Cullen, since they're the two people she knows and has history with. Also to talk vaguely around Veilguard spoilers, although I haven't played it yet I am aware Of Things, and am 1000% here for FIXING IT.

I can't really do any psl stuff too much, so I am only keeping slots open for them at this time and with whatever I have ongoing so far.
Generally, my pacing is once a day, depending on tag length and what is required of the tag. I've just started classes, so I am cleaning up my log to organize things and ensure I can get back to at least one tag a day, pacing. When it comes to games, I'm a lot more frequent since most of the time game tags are a lot of dialogue and don't require too much setting or background control.

[why]: i think there is a lot of room for all kinds of different possibilities and dynamics, as well as canon divergent AUs in all kinds of directions. i think that dabi's obsession with his family is fascinating to also explore in an even worse way, with how possessive he is of both his family's joy and their torment, and his obsession with shouto in particular makes for a lot of interesting shipping moments.

honestly there are so many different directions and fun things to do with these two, and so many different canon points to explore. i love baby cloud and zack in crisis core, i love the split timeline that remake/rebirth gave us, i love the idea of zack being in a coma for all of ff7 and waking up in acc time and dealing with that... just so many juicy options.

[why]: while i've always been a cloud/tifa person at heart, remake and rebirth have really helped me to see all the potential gooey good that comes from cloud/aerith, too, and i want to write so much of them! i think they're both people who are similar, in some ways, and drastically different in other ways, but they mesh really well together and have incredible chemistry. i think the inherent sadness that aerith has re: zack is something that is really interesting to dig into when it comes to cloud, the person who wanted so badly to become a hero like zack... i just think they're neat and tragic and pretty together.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses | Ferdinand/Bernadetta, Ferdinand/Constance, etc.

[wanted]: A few rarer ships! As the subject line suggests, Bernie and Constance are both great ones whose prior connections with Ferdinand I'd like to explore. Marianne, Mercedes, Hilda, and Flayn are also up there on the list of "characters I'd love to play with but don't get the chance to play with much."
[why]: How dare Three Houses give us so many options? I really enjoy how Ferdinand's relationships grow and change over the course of the story, and I'd love to see more of them. With Bernadetta, I love exploring the idea of their initial awkward relationship and near-betrothal growing into something more genuine and trusting, maybe with Ferdinand finding a special place for her where he can take her that isn't her room that still makes her feel happy and safe. With Constance, I love how they both represent a distant past to one another, and I'm especially interested in them showing some vulnerability to one another, complete with Constance's unique... condition.
[game/psl info]: For memes/PSLs, I'm happy to keep things PG-rated or move things into a more smutty direction. My tagging speed varies based on life events, but I do try to not overextend myself so I can focus on a few threads at a time. I'd be interested in focusing on some momentous firsts to start with: love confessions, unexpected kisses, passions getting the better of them, that sort of thing.
Golden Peacock is a sex-based game set in a strange resort, complete with a casino and restaurants, where the dynamics between characters can shift, and the House is always influencing things to try to get characters to indulge in their vices. Being non-monogamous is pretty much a given in the game, so keep that in mind if you decide to give it a try. This is an app month and it's invite-only, but my invite is currently unspoken for!
Teen Wolf; Peter/Stiles (pref), Derek/Stiles

[wanted]: Derek Hale, Peter Hale / Teen Wolf; Cross-canon is also welcome.
[why]: I love Stiles' dynamic with both of them, and their building relationship in canon, which I feel that the series did dirty for Stiles and Peter's dynamic and slowly building trust. Stiles and Derek's chemistry and dynamic is also fantastic, and I would have liked to have known more about the anchor situation at the end of 3B, but unfortunately Derek's actor left the show before that could be established. I also haven't played Stiles in about 10-ish years, and really, really miss rp'ing and would like to get back into the swing of things with him.
[game/psl info]: I don't have a particular setting or scenario, I love talking about the show and scenes/episodes with people to see where we want to go from there or if anything strikes a fancy. I wouldn't mind exploration for post-3B (iykyk) and the same with post-6a as that was very Peter/Stiles heavy.
