March EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / kink you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme. ➤ The meme is for fiction-based RP only (with the only exception being involvement of fictionalized historical figures or historical settings.) Post-canon stuff? Post-canon stuff. They did not get together at the end of the drama, and I would like to spin some self-indulgent things off of said ending. Perhaps LWJ decided to chase WWX after all, perhaps WWX decided to return and stay for good. I don't need everything to be the exact same as the novel and rehash the "getting together" plot beats, but I would like some interesting stuff going on as they explore their deeper feelings about each other and redefine their relationship to be more than just zhiji.
I want drama, messes, maybe some crying, some night-hunting, also domesticity. Definitely some smut and kink. I'm also very fond of long-term PSLs and will stick to it for as long as I can/am hyped for it. Given I've had MDZS/Untamed brainrot for years, I don't think I'll lose interest anytime soon.
I'm fine with starting out with a casual thread to see if we're compatible! I'm willing to do meme stuff on bkst. As a note, I live in Southeast Asia, GMT+8 timezone, so my active hours are on the exact opposite of those in the US, please excuse some slowness.

[why]: There are a lot of different ways I've seen them tossed together in fandom spaces and honestly I love them all. With Warren being patient and understanding to Nathan's mercurial nature, but also willing to stand up to him about things. Or going in the opposite direction with darkness/toxicity and fully volatile, digging into some of Warren's hints of darkness as well to match Nathan's own.

[why]: okay I know this sounds unhinged but hear me out; years ago I played with this dynamic by chance and found it to be incredibly interesting and it really allowed for a lot of world building, exploration, diving further and deeper into leon's emotions. there was something very spicy/unique about this particular ship, and while I'm not looking to recreate it 1:1, I am looking for a similar energy.

Looking to start a ship with Leon with either Saya or Diva from Blood+ from the start, to really build them up and write out their ups and downs, and do some kind of continuity/post re4 exploration. God, I've loved this pairing ever since I got into P4, but I've never managed to team up with a Yukiko long enough to play it out. Best friends to lovers is my favorite trope and they have that in spades. Chie is always talking about how beautiful Yukiko is, and she's ready to die to protect her. Yukiko calls Chie her "prince," and she always wears red because Chie said it looked good on her once. They're a fire and ice teamup who are both more than they seem to be on the surface. Yeah, so I replayed the game a few weeks ago and fell in love with these two all over again. I have a weakness for "battle couples" and despite a rocky start, these two develop into exactly that over the course of their quest. Midna is snarky and sharp but she goes soft for Link, and he goes from barely tolerating her to willing to die for her. Just looking at some of the cutscenes where they smirk at each other, or he holds her until she wakes up, or she touches his cheek... Haven't gotten to the second new season yet, but I loved the first one, and oops they're in my brain again. Ranma and Akane are more like "reluctant friends" than "best friends" at first, but although they can never say it out loud, they make it clear with their actions how important they are to each other. They'll probably never stop arguing entirely, but they never hesitate to stand together against any opponent. Full disclosure, I'm not really that much of an MHA fan. I mostly enjoy it for the characters, and these two stood out to me from the beginning. They're a punk rocker and a wealthy heiress, but they both want to be heroes and help people, and even though they don't get a lot of focus (hello, shounen series with a huge cast), they always feel close when they do show up. I've been procrastinating on finishing the manga and making Kyouka's icons, but for a Momo, I'll do it![who I play]: Kaisa (the librarian) / Hilda

Saw Kaisa on my roster and remembered "oh yeah, I tried playing her once. and oh yeah, I still love this ship." AND OKAY LISTEN. I know this is a long shot. Hilda's not that well known a series, so what are the odds anyone plays the main character's mum? Oh, and these two literally never meet in canon. But there's a group of fans on Tumblr who love to imagine if they did, and I'm one of them. They both love Hilda and adventure with her, they both have trouble making friends, they're both different from the people around them... They have more in common than you might think, and I just think it would be cute if that led them into a budding romance. (Unlike my others, though, I'm not really looking to put Kaisa in any games, so PSLs would be best.)[game/psl info]: For PSLs, I usually lean towards playing in the canon settings. AUs are something I enjoy more in fanfic than in RP. Not that I couldn't be convinced, of course. And like I said above, I'm looking at games for most of these, and I'd love to play out a developing relationship alongside other game stuff!

[why]: I want to sink my teeth into the interrupted love and familiarity between astrid and caleb, the lingering fondness, the dangerous game of "can I trust you" and "I would hurt you if I needed to," her struggle to go along with caleb's plan and not kill trent, her denied catharsis. I want aus where they reunite earlier in canon or where she's involved in taking trent down again in blumenthal. I want everything from exploring resentments to potential healing, arguments and admissions, wildly conflicted sex and affection between exes who don't quite know what they'll do with each other but share a bond that shaped them dramatically, one that no one but these three can fully understand. I also want to dig into how she and eadwulf dealt with the loss of bren (and the return of caleb), how they may have learned the full truth about trent's manipulations, what their relationship was like "offscreen" and the depth of their trust in each other and what harrowing adventures they had on their own. absolutely down for three-way threads (and actual threesomes) if both characters can be found.
House of the Dragon: Helaena/Aemond, Helaena and Daeron
[who I play]: Helaena Targaryen
[wanted]: Aemond Targaryen, Daeron 'the drunken' Targaryen
[why]: For Helaena/Aemond I'd love to explore the two of them and their relationship in a romantic/shippy setting. Whether that's because the two of them were betrothed instead, or they just have their thing on the side, or any other reason. I'm here for all of them. Including slotting the pair into other canons or other points in the timeline of their own canon to see how things go. For Helaena and Daeron it's purely the fun and exploration of two dreamers interacting together.
[game/psl info]: PSLs and memes, mostly, maybe musebox shenanigans, too. I'm current to the end of the first season, but I know what happens in season 2. Here for AUs, and what-ifs, and exploring different paths in canon and all the moments in between. Playing fast and loose with timeline things. Do I KNOW how Daeron and Helaena could meet? Nope. Will that stop me? Absolutely not!
However I do ALSO have her in PixieLed, and castmates are always loved in-game!

[why]: There's snark and banter and soft touches and it's kind of a slowburn. It takes Keiko a little time to trust him but once she DOES… and Lee's torn between his duty to the military and his loyalty to his friends. They're just SO GOOD.
[game/psl info]: PSLs or memes, although a game eventually COULD be fun. I mostly just want to play around with the two of them. I love them a lot. Explore what might have happened if they'd pursued something before she fell. She's new (because it took me a while to come up with a username) and DEEPLY voicetesty for me, but I love them and am here for all the shenanigans.
