FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no banners, no blinking text, no obnoxious tables, no sparklies, no pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be frozen and/or deleted.

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened.

IN GENERAL:

➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be screened.

• various characters from Vampire: the Masquerade and other OWOD games. I guess that makes them OCs by definition. Offering on behalf of myself and a small group of other muns.

• Horror games are A-OK.
• Slice of life would be considered on a case by case basis, so long as their 'needs' (thirst for blood, need to avoid sunlight, etc.) can be met.
• Sex games are less likely, but may be considered if they're plot-driven and not just smut for smut's sake.

We have a Beckett over at

snowblindrpg, a psychological horror game set in a small, frozen Alaskan town post-some sort of nuclear bomb attack. It is a powerloss game, but it's set up about as much like a tabletop RPG as I've ever seen in a DWRP game. We'd love to have some more vampires!

When you say powerless, do you mean humanization? Like, for example, along with losing their disciplines, vampires would also lose the need to drink blood, sleep during the day, etc.?

To some degree, yes. Beckett has still been holding on to some of his vampiric characteristics in spite of being technically humanized to the point he has a heartbeat. He can and still does drink blood from some donors in-game. He still has his fangs, and Snowblind allows some non-practically useful flavor abilities to remain. The game requires travel during the day, though, as everyone is trapped in buildings during the night time hours.

hadriel! She's a d&d oc, and two other ocs from her campaign are in the game, too. we've also got a taz cast! in general, hadriel is super friendly to ocs and tabletop characters, and it's a horror game, so it would probably fit your characters pretty well! the basic idea is that the characters are brought in through a door, and their emotions act as sustenance for a group of gods. we're also gearing up for a pretty cool part of the plot right now, so it would be a great time to join!

I'm confused, back when I asked the mods about my oWoD OC they said tabletop OCs were not allowed and the FAQ still states

Currently, both canon OCs (player-created characters whom a narrative is built around, such as the player character in MMOs and tabletop games) and fandom OCs (player-created characters with a background within a certain fandom but who are not canonically recognized as a character within the story) are not allowed.

how did you get D&D OCs in? (I would still like to come to Hadriel so if there's a way to get my guy in now I'd be very interested...)

Did they just forget to update the FAQ?

Oh, yep! they must not have updated it. back before i apped a couple of months ago i pmed the mods, and they said their concerns about tabletop OCs aren't really an issue anymore, so they were fine with us apping! if you want peace of mind you can always pm them to double check, but!

Assuming you aren't already in

synodiporia, I'd like to recommend it. We have a couple of WoDs, both oWoD, nWoD and mixes, three of whom are vampires, who are all doing well, and would always like more.

The setting is a bit unusual - two weeks in a "Liminal Space" where people are themselves and arrivals happen, and then six weeks in a world that is different every time (with some returning settings) where some of the characters will remain themselves and some will be AUed into the setting. Teleportation and telepathic powers are the only ones that are nerfed (f.ex.: Dominate is fine because it's not telepathic, but higher tier Auspex is out), but other powers will be given in return.

Don't worry about the game being currently over cap, going by experience it will be back under cap and thus all accepted apps will immediately get into the game once the next round of apps rolls around (that's the only downside to this rec, the next app round is scheduled for after the Christmas craze, so two months off).

What about the Thaumaturgy Path of Technomancy (exactly what it sounds like; manipulation of technology), or certain Daimonion abilities from the Baali (specifically, the one, two, and four dot abilities)?

Technological things tend to not be a problem, and Matthew, who is some kind of technology magician in canon, can still interface with telephone lines, so I don't think Path of Technomancy should be an issue.

The Daimonion Disciplines will depend on if it's presented as a telepathic ability or not, I think. If they aren't telepathic, they should work - we have a Changeling who can see people's deepest fears and as long as they don't summon an actual creature from another plane but just make something up, there should be no problem with the summoning; and yeah, I think the one and two dot ones shouldn't be an issue either as long as they don't count as telepathic (again, Dominate is permissible because it's not telepathic).

The power cap info on the FAQ is here and all mods are tabletop roleplayers so there's understanding of how tabletop ability mechanics work (including one mod,

obiisama who is a WoD player herself and should be able to answer questions about WoD stuff from a mod perspective, if you'd like to hit her up on plurk - our mods are very open to being hit up about things personally on plurk).
