November EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no banners, no blinking text, no obnoxious tables, no sparklies, no pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be frozen and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. Most importantly, we do have a small Homestuck cast consisting of Dave, Rose, Karkat, Aradia and myself, and I personally would love to play off of a Roxy! In addition we also have a Fai from TRC (and tangentially related Sakura and Syaoran from CCS) along with a Miles Edgeworth and Apollo Justice that may be of interest for you for Subaru and Maya as well.
Apps don't open again until January since we're bimonthly and February will kick off the next big game-changer to provide action and adventure elements along with all of the above. Anyway I hope this has helped and if you have questions I would be more than happy to answer! If this isn't your cup of tea then I also wish you luck finding a game!

Just curious how characters have been handling the memory regaining? Have they come to an IC conclusion for it yet, or is it still a weird phenomena to them?

Essentially as of right now due to a large-scale mod-run plot that went for the entirety of August, characters have learned that they're currently undergoing a process more or less dubbed as reconstruction! Several worlds have been destroyed and the characters that are in-game are basically ones who had fragments of themselves saved from these worlds and they are now being reformed to what they once were. A lot of characters accept that the reconstruction is a thing that happens but there are also plenty of characters who don't believe that the people they're remembering are the same as themselves. It's really all about how you would want to ICly play it. Characters are basically considered NPCs unaware that any of this is going on until they're in-game and receive an app called Retrospec that ties everything together.
There's still a lot left that characters are trying to figure out, namely the "why" of all of these happenings. Currently they are aware there's a company called Retrospec that's acting on all of these things and tend to be tied to the temporal storms (IC term for game events.) Retrospec is also behind the Retrospec app, a social media network that essentially awakens characters to notice all of the strange things around them and starts the regain process. As of right now, nobody's quite clear on what Retrospec's really doing and the deeper mystery of the city itself which dates back to the four founders. A lot of that should be covered in arc two, hopefully, which is what we're starting in February right after January's app cycle!
With that said even for characters who're there for a while there's plenty to still work with and figure out as the game continues to grow and right now we're in a minor rest period after the large-scale event with little portions of the world coming back and others disappearing before entering another action-filled block.
The Homestucks have been apped in in kind of a stagger in that Dave and Karkat have been there since game-start, Aradia apped in around May I want to say and Rose and John showed up in September (and at one point we've had a handful of the other kids as well who have since dropped.) To tie into the above, the cast itself is a little split on how reconstruction is happening, why it's happening and if they want to fully accept what's going on. Some physical changes have also been regained (for instance the Strilondes have their eye-color back, Karkat has his horns and Aradia has the troll mouth now) and the kids are regaining powers and items in bits and pieces.
In terms of AU, we also have AU workshops prior to the TDM/reserves/apps that goes up so players can flesh out their AUs, build pre-game CR and etc if they'd like and that's entirely optional! We have a lot of players that utilize this but we also have players that just sort of jump right in and figure it out as they go. We did have a Roxy once in the game (played by our current Rose player) and though the initial AU was a Strilonde family of Dirk, Roxy, Dave and Rose (two sets of twins born to the same family, and the Dave and Rose still use that AU) there are IC mechanics to explain characters who've dropped and then come back online.
Gosh, I am so sorry that sure is a whole lot of words, but I hope all of that kind of helps give you a scope of things! Like mentioned initially we're actually just closing apps for November but we're reopening in January so the AU workshop would beeeeee...January 10th! Reserves/TDM are the week after that (17th) and then apps are the 24th through the 31st. I know that's quite a while to wait but if you're still interested by then we would absolutely love to see you on the workshop and see how things jive! December is going to be slightly more low-key in terms of events due to the holidays but the game's public if you'd like to check out how things are run and some of the past events including August's plot.
