FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted.

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened.

IN GENERAL:

➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be screened.

Excellent! C: I'm most comfortable playing Chewie from the original trilogy era (or sometime pre/post it) so I'm loving these ideas. I would love to do some unsavory shenanigans, with them pulling a job or a heist and everything perhaps not going entirely smoothly with it...? As has a habit of happening with them, let's be real. I'd also love to thread their first meeting and how the life debt came to be with Han saving Chewie's skin, I don't know if the upcoming Solo movie will delve into any of that. I'm just really interested in exploring the trust and camaraderie between them and how their personalities work together to create a team.

But yeah, a possibly unfortunate heist? Managing to get away by the skin of their teeth? Regrouping on Kashyyyk? Honestly, I'd be open to it all!

I, uh ... might have jumped the gun a little making this journal (or did I just shoot first).

In the old books Han threw away a prominent career in the Imperial Navy sparing Chewie from execution. That was why Chewie felt so indebted to him. From what I can tell with the trailer and some of the photos of the toys coming out, that seemed to be preserved for Solo. If it plays out like I expect, there’s gonna be some difficultly with them forming that bond right away - mostly because Han is so stubborn.

I am optimistic about the upcoming movie, but I haven’t been a huge fan of some of the choices they’ve made for OT characters in the new canon.

Lmao, let's go with the latter! I do know the general outline of the circumstances of their meeting (I used to read some EU books etc way back in the day when EU was still a thing), but I honestly haven't looked up any extra info on the Solo movie aside from checking out the trailer, so I wasn't sure if that was still going to be a thing. But yeah, now that I think about it, I believe there was a line in there somewhere about Han getting kicked out of flight school/navy/something that I don't recall right now.

Anyways, I wouldn't expect them to become bffs right away, which is why it would be fun to explore that. Or thread a fix-it, depending on how the movie turns out...

Alright, I have the beginnings of a thought.

It’s close to ANH time, so they’ve been working together for a while. They’re really hard up for money (what else is new) and they get so desperate for cash they’re willing to do almost anything for money - so they take up a bounty hunting contract. And I think that could be fun because we could have them crawling through the underworlds, using cool weapons and it also is gonna challenge who they are as people? I know Han hates bounty hunters (but love for the Falcon > than everything) so how they chose to do it and what lines they aren’t willing to cross should be kinda interesting to explore.

And then, if it goes the way a typical Han and Chewie story goes, they probably catch this guy/gal and then let them go (or help them take down the crime lord that took out the bounty in the first place). Playing this out would be long, but I can keep a thread going forever.

Oohhh. That sounds really good, actually! Mmmaybe they already owe Jabba the money and they really need to pay him back, plus the Falcon desperately needs repairs or they'll have no means of acquiring paying jobs? It would be fun if they really had to hunt around for this person from place to place only to realize when they catch up to them, (maybe after receiving additional information) that the right thing to do is to let them go/help them. I think it would be interesting to play out the conflict between the necessity for money and both Han and Chewie's personal distaste for bounty hunting and hunters.

I definitely don't mind longer psls! I'll tag forever too, though thanks to my Euro timezone I may not be as active during weekdays as I am weekends. But I do always try to tag my psls once or twice a day, minimum.

I mostly write on my days off. I work three shifts a week at a hospital and it's very difficult to get tags off sometimes because we're chronically short staffed. You should get a couple from me a week though and I'm pretty good about letting people know if I'm really bogged down with a DM.
