FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. I enjoy threads based on interpersonal drama, especially ones that elaborate on canon dynamics or events. Texting threads are also fun! I tend to prefer fade-to-black over writing out smut, but I still ask that you only contact me if you're 18 or older.
FOR HORATIO: Life onboard the Indy! Maybe stuff taking place during the quarantine in S01E02, the realities of combat on the mainland in #4, shore leave, or the drama of a major storm. I only really ship him with Archie, although I'd be open to mutual one-step-above-a-crush interactions with Maj. Edrington once Horatio starts to think more highly of him (and, on the topic of Major Edrington, would really dig something revolving around gradually establishing a working partnership). I'd also love to play something centered in his father-son dynamic with Pellew - maybe Horatio comes to him for advice, or, alternatively, Pellew tries to be of some comfort when Horatio's mourning Archie.
FOR BECKETT: General interactions in the spirit of the series - maybe negotiations between him and pirates or more subtle power struggles with his allies in the royal navy. A pirate AU could also be fun! Although I'd love to catch any castmates (or folks willing to interact crosscanon!) around these parts, I'd especially love to write stuff with an Elizabeth or a Jack. His exchanges with Elizabeth are really interesting to me in that although he's pretty much contemptuous of everyone (including her) he does seem to recognize that she can be a formidable opponent, and I think he finds it entertaining to very subtly antagonize her. Maybe they meet together in a situation that isn't at gunpoint, have a conversation while she's still in her cell, or have to spend an extended period of time together because of an external threat. Where Jack is concerned, I'd dig threads set sometime during AWE - imho it's pretty strongly implied (especially in the extended version of the scene) that despite deeply resenting Jack, Beckett's still attracted to him some decade after they first met; I question whether or not Jack was aware of that fact. Although he was objectively in the wrong and Jack did the morally responsible thing by liberating the slave ship, I think he nevertheless perceives himself as having been a victim in that situation and has a lot of repressed anger that he's never articulated - so maybe something that involves more tiptoeing around the heart of the issue, or, alternatively, maybe they finally do have a full conversation about it when one of them isn't holding a branding iron. Shipping beyond onesided attraction is possible, but would require some plot development.
FOR GUY: Classic espionage stuff! In 1936 - his senior year at Trinity college in the CS timeline - he's essentially a talent scout for the KGB, and afterwards he's working with the BBC/MI5/MI6 and passing critical documents to his Soviet handlers. Fellow spies on either side would be great, as would normal civilians/people who could potentially be recruited. Joint missions, molehunts, recruitment, dealing with potentially blown cover, and non-spies getting dragged into things are all ideas I'd love to try out. Also regular college nonsense, whether it be in his era or modern AU - group projects, parties, roommate shenanigans (or conflicts), that sort of thing. I'd especially like to do crosscanon with shows like The Americans, TMFU, Archer (modern AU for this one), Bond, le Carré, etc etc. With regards to shipping, it's in Guy's basic nature to make a pass at pretty much any man he finds acceptable in appearance or genuinely good looking regardless of whether or not the individual on the other side of his advances is attracted to men. The flip side of this is that he has a very strong aversion to commitment and is very unlikely to agree to any kind of sexually monogamous relationship, even if he does genuinely love the person who's asking him to do so. He doesn't really attach much emotional weight, if any, to sex - for him it's just another thing he routinely does to feel good, just like smoking or drinking. That being said, I do think he'd be willing to at least attempt to curb his anonymous sex habit for Julien Bell and maybe Anthony or Kim depending on the specific circumstances. Overall, I think his thing for Julien was more along the vein of puppy love, whereas he really was genuinely compatible with Anthony and did love him in his own way despite his drinking/sex habits preventing them from ever being in a bona fide relationship - I'd love to thread out an alternate ending or general shippy stuff. I tend to lean towards slow-burn/will-they-won't-they and love writing out interpersonal drama.
FOR JULIE: Ngl, I'm itching to write some Julie/Nikki, either during S1 or post-series. I'm interested in the little details of them getting back together - the fact that Nikki's still in a relationship, Julie still not knowing if she's undead, the two of them recovering from the trauma of everything that happened between them and Victor, etc. Julie's implied PTSD/Nikki's internalized guilt over what happened on Halloween night could also be interesting to work with. SOL and more plot-heavy threads are equally loved!
FOR ELISHA: General in-era historical stuff, either during the war or during reconstruction - combat, interactions between medical personnel, prisoner situations, taking care of injuries/illness, etc etc. Elisha's the Surgeon Major of his brigade, so he's responsible for overseeing their field hospital and its ambulance corps in addition to performing surgeries like everyone else. The specific year the thread takes place in will influence his personality/interactions - by 1864 he's pretty bitter and burnt out and wants to see the South pay for what he sees as a blood debt. I'm not opposed to shipping threads be they M/F or M/M, but it's very difficult to get him to form romantic attachments as he doesn't really bond with other people very easily and romance is the last thing on his mind.
