February EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. don't worry about comics knowledge; they're long and silly and sometimes barely make sense. i read comics so other people don't have to. and because i have a problem, apparently.
All of that sounds amazing, and i'm totally fine with you playing up whatever sides of morgan you want to play! i can deal with full asshole morgan and tbh so can peter, he has a high threshhold for other people being shitty, especially if he thinks theyre ~~good deep down~. peter is a bleeding heart juuust a little.
and no worries, i totally understand that reticence. for some reason, every adaptation of peter makes him younger and younger, even though he graduated high school in issue 28 which came out in 1965. he hasnt been a little kid in decades in the comics. comic book peter, the one i play, is the oldest version, somewhere in his early-mid thirties. he's had various grownup jobs, like teaching a high school, starting a tech company, and being the senior science writer for a widely distributed newspaper, and at no point was anyone like 'you're kind of young for that??'. however his dream was always to be a full time scientist at a lab doing experimental work to help people. he couldnt because he dropped out of his phd program due to ~spider drama~ obviously in any talos adjacent au, he didn't.

i've been doing another playthrough and i'm really curious about morgan in the simulations but also morgan between them? like i keep finding notes and transcribes this time talking about having to change the keycode on his quarters or how he keeps requesting operator parts but acting like he doesn't remember doing it before. IDK there's a lot of room for pain and confusion in there that i'm here for, especially in slow burn contexts 👀.
full time scientist peter getting a job to go work on talos is the best shit. the little i do know tells me that the whole typhon experimentation kind of fits the mood of his story sometimes too? and it's totally up to you if he's in the part of the station that's aware of the typhon or if he's in the innocent, naive part of things that doesn't know where neuromods actually come from.
and normally i wouldn't really be worried about the age, i was hesitant to bring it up lol, i've just hit a cap on how many mentor type characters i can write for people right now and i'm really into people who are more on an even playing field as far as those things go.

oh man that sounds amazing. ive only done two playthroughs and i never checked out the notes and recordings much beyond the obvious because i was too hyped out about the frigging space squids trying to eat my face. but knowing the team at arkane it was definitely some freaky shit, i look forward to it
thinking about it, peter ends up majoring in physics, so hes probably an engineer sent to keep the space ship running and you know, in space, along with running experimental tech related to aeronautics. the thing about peter though is even in an au where hes not a superhero, he still has that bleeding heart and belief and drive to do good. which would seriously tested in talos, especially when he hears rumors about sketchy shit going on and sneaks into a place he shouldnt be to try and investigate. or something. plot setup?? maybe????
oh dont worry about it, i wasnt offended. i just wanted to make it crystal clear peter was a grown up and i wasnt trying to slide something you didn't ask for under the radar. but if youre okay with ~33y/o wunderkind in space(hell) meets morgan yu in hell(space), i'm totally down. do you have a preference for memes or psls or would you like to plot more out first?

oh god there's all kinds of engineering positions, too. i love how the game lists all the people on board talos and where they work and everything because it makes it pretty easy to figure out where peter could fit in. but the rumors and the psych evals and trying to figure out what's really going on in psychotronics or the neuromod division...boy he could get into a lot of trouble. but even the idea of him looking into the weird stuff going on but none of it really being confirmed at all until the breach itself actually happens might be interesting? that sudden moment of everything he's suspected being totally confirmed and that much worse than he could have guessed.
wunderkind meeting wunderkind in space. morgan's only 30 in the game (technically "27" in the sim but bc they set the sim 3 years earlier for whatever reason) but the VP and director of research at transtar which yes, thanks mom and dad for that position probably. but considering the psychoscope is morgan's creation it's safe to say he and peter would have a lot in common in that area?
and i'm game for whatever! both! i'd love to plot more, though, if you're up for it? figure out more where we want to start and what we/they know?

yeppp and peter just blames himself because he
has a complexcould have fixed everything if he hadn't sat on his hands! and thus when he sees morgan hed definitely follow him around even if morgan told him to fuck off.oh good they can be giant nerds together. im not saying peter invented the nerf gun on talos but only because its too low tech for him, he definitely was one of the first guys using the glu gun to scale walls. he could.... honestly use the compound to reinvent his webslingers, or something like it, god...
i'd definitely love to plot more, i dont do 'full aus' like this often, haha. we can keep going here, or you can hmu @ plurk (
