FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no banners, no blinking text, no obnoxious tables, no sparklies, no pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be frozen and/or deleted.

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either.

I think both options are actually pretty viable for you! I think you've mentioned to me in the past power nerfing is a no-go for Grell in particular, but you do get the chance in

crosschecks to regain other skills that are similar (or even better). The game is medium-paced in nature and the playerbase itself is very active and engaged, so it's easy to get involved in stuff. I'd actually compare it to Eachdraidh in terms of having so much to do and so much potential for a character to develop, it's awesome.

On the other hand,

lostcarnival is basically no or limited power nerf and leans more towards a slower pace. Using Grell as an example again, the setting would be a great fit because it's basically a huge fae circus which I could see her doing well in. Plus monster transformation is an option if you want it and would be fun to play with! It's brand new and smaller so it may be easier to get onboard with.

Like I said, I think either could work depending on who you want to bring, but they both seem very much like games you would enjoy.

To be honest the development aspect of CC has always intrigued me from the start, enough that I would seriously consider going "I know I said no nerfs but..." at least for her. The other I've considered has been conveniently canon nerfed at a point in time which would make adjusting to it all so much easier.

also you play Gil so I can seriously ask how well does the game receive antagonists/villains/etc.? Is it like Each where they equally got opportunities to be awful and develop out their own stories?

The rank system is a blast and has been a huge hit across the board with everyone. I really can't think of anyone who's come out and said they don't like it, and it ties in very well to development... especially development in a slightly different direction from canon, as you can have your character plunked into a role they contrast with and must learn to adapt to (i.e. imagine having a villain rank up as a King, a supportive healing role). There is a lot of room to tell a personal story based on how the game is set up, and plenty to achieve, such as pursuing a house or a business, which adds to the appeal.

As for antagonists, there's actually a great niche waiting to be filled for that! The premise of the game is set up in such a way that a clever character could manipulate public opinion behind the scenes. Not every character is on board with playing Hero just because they're told to, and there have been some suspicious things implied about the great powers behind it all. We have a wanted system in play for characters wanting to go rogue that could potentially be a lot of fun in numbers. All in all, villainous angles haven't been explored in-depth yet by any of our current roster (if anything we could stand to have a few more bad guys), but the potential is there and I could see a lot of people going for it. ugh sing more to my heart with all of that...a good set up for a manipulative jackass who'd play the system but then throw it away when it got boring. I at least promise I'll swing by the TDM very soon to feel the waters. ~~And I mean I promised Ginko I would too.~~
