April EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. Duplicity is a sex game (but sex is not required for AC) that explores darker aspects of a character's personality and desires in a city that automatically sorts new arrivals into a caste system. Dominants live in the Up, the nicer part of the city, while Submissives are housed in the Down, the city's dark underbelly.
AC requirements are any two of the following: 5 log comments from your character, an open network log or post from your character, 10 network comments from your character, or 15 private inbox comments from your character, and TDM threads can be used!

[game info]: Deerington is a panfandom horror game set in 1950's Maine, or at least a dream reality version of it. There's different types of horror, and you can customize it to the level you'd like to play. This place is meant to test your characters psyche! So play out whatever you think will break whoever you bring in, and have fun helping others do the same. Events are not mandatory, but you can always take a prompt and customize it to something you do want to play out. So if there's a month where nothing strikes you? That's okay! The game is set on a floating island above a ruined world, where characters' emotions have effects on the environment around them. There's a mix of slice-of-life and plot, with room for a variety of tones; what you take on is up to you! There are opportunities to explore the world and uncover its mysteries, as well as a task board with a variety of different quests/odd jobs that characters can take on, plus events that can play with the characters’ emotions. Steven himself has been in the game for several years, and his current canon point is the “Snow Day” episode of Future. I’m currently playing with some of the issues he’s had in Future, without things going exactly the same as in canon. Other characters from Future or from earlier canon points would all be welcome!
This game is ending in August and so there have been some changes to how AC and apps work. AC only requires one open post or seven comments (across two or more threads). Reserves and apps are also now always open; apps still have an initial period covering the first four days of the month, and any apps submitted following that period will be processed on weekends. There are also several options for anyone who wants to test out the setting: there’s the current test drive, and this month’s event also has a fourth wall effect.

[game info]: Premise! In short, a Victorian-esque setting where characters are assigned as either Witches or Monsters based on your own OOC preferences. Witches get cool magic, Monsters get cool transformations and abilities that relate to that. Relies heavily on a "bond" system where characters can basically get an empathic mental tie to each other in order to support each other, get cool perks, and put a turbo charger on your CR since they can feel each others' emotions and see each others' dreams sometimes. Maria is a Witch there!

There are a lot of mysteries behind the setting including why so many random people are being pulled in. There are monthly events that affect the setting and the type of horror changes with it (for example, we've had a Bioshock themed event one month then switched to Midsommar another). I'd love to have more Star Wars characters in game, from any era, Canon or Legends. Anakin and Obi-Wan have been working with the other characters to find an edge around the mysterious Bureau that seems to have invaded their lives. Events are monthly, AC requirements are 20 comments distributed between at least 2 different threads and characters (though for the moment, AC requirements are cut in half due to current events).

Prisma is a sex-friendly (but not sex-required) sci-fi/fantasy game that has a very low AC (3-5 comments/month) and a lot of fun mechanics. Physical affection gives your character energy and money, but if that's not your character's bag, the Moonblessing system encourages it in some fun ways.
There is an overarching plot but it can be easily be played as an SoL game, which is how I've more or less been going about it.
CRAU and OCs are also allowed! Finn's a CRAU, too. Reserves open on the 8th. Applications open on the 15th. The TDM will be posted on the 8th/9th.

People are either Dominants or Submissives. Dominants get to live in the lap of luxury in the Up and are granted far more rights, opportunities, and freedoms. Every day is about survival for a Submisssive. Submissives live in the poverty and crime-stricken Down, live in communal housing, and have little in the way of rights and even less when it comes to freedom.
Dominants and Submissives form contracts between them that grant Submissives more rights and opportunities and don't have to necessarily be sexual in nature.
Events usually involve some kind of aphrodisiac as well as elements of horror, SoL, dystopia, or even humor.
There's good-sized number of teenage characters already present in the game and I can see the "13 Reasons Why" characters fitting into the game culture easily. My only requests are no Bryce Walker (he's just too big a source of triggers) or Clay Jensen (too much of a Nice Guy).

Tramitem is a pan-fandom game that mixes slice of life and a bit of a meta plot with events of unexplained randomness. It's set on an AU Earth. Characters start out with none of their canon memories but get them back over time while dealing with a shady as fuck secret organization call The Bureau. And in addition to dealing with The Bureau, there are random plots and multiple universes occasionally showing up.
Bitterblue is a cryptologist and cyber security specialist for INTERPOL, but she doesn't like or trust The Bureau and is working on a way to create a means for the characters to communicate privately so The Bureau can't hack/spy on their conversations. She'd love help.

[game info]: Prismatica takes place in a sex-friendly sci-fi setting where characters receive energy and currency from physical contact. Sex is part of the setting, but the smut is completely optional. Also, each character is aligned to one of three moons, from which different optional effects can come into play at certain points of the month (including animal parts, changes to behavior and some powers). There are also events which can have a mix of tones, including action, comedy, drama, horror and smut. In terms of canon points, Edgeworth's from back in his early days (after the trial of Terry Fawles), while Gumshoe and Kay are from the first and second AAI games, respectively. We're open to playing with people from any canon points!

Panfandom horror game set in a 1950s Maine dreamworld with creepy Stepford NPCs, a mystery surrounding a little girl named Sodder whose dream this might be, and a stable of different forms of horror. There's one event per month, and I've found a range of tagging speeds are present. AC is a little complicated to get used to with a points system, but there's a spreadsheet system provided that makes it all pretty easy once you figure it out. Super friendly OOC community who're willing to help, and ICly, characters seem eager to bring the newbies into plot-relevant situations.
Martin and Jon are from the beginning of 160 before spoilers things happen, just as a heads up, and Sasha is from right before her canon death. It would be amazing to have anyone, but especially a Tim to complete the S1 cast! We may also have a Gerry Keay apping!

Duplicity is a dark-themed smut game that deals with pulling out characters worst impulses and exploiting their flaws. There's no smut AC requirement, though.
It can seem pretty fast, especially around events, but I've found people working at all different paces here from boomerang tagging to one tag every couple of days. AC requirements are pretty lax with a max of 10 comments required. Events definitely run to the darker side of things, but there are almost always a lighter aspects. It's a lot of 'it is what you make of it,' whether that's more focused on horror or more focused on the sexy city side of things. Jon's from the end of Episode 160!

[game info]: Here is the more detailed premise, but! Prismatica is a sex-friendly, sci-fi game in which physical contact is key and the moons prompt monthly changes. AC is 3 comments a month, and there is PLENTY to delve into! Never a boring moment tbh, especially not with the Deer being, you know. The Deer™. At the moment, the four Deer in Prisma are cramming onto the couch in Lorenz's purple apartment, watching trashy reality TV and drinking boxed wine. Help! [game info]: Deerington is a horror jam-har game set in a fictional town in Maine, with spooky shit that happens regularly and setting warp as it pertains to a dreamscape. All events are at player discretion opt-outable, and the game itself encourages CR and development.
The TDM is very active with a lot of good people on it this month. AC is easily accessible and the game itself runs at about a medium pace.
