FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content).

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences.

➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game.

IN GENERAL:

➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened.

voidtreckerexpress we already have an idia from the series! i also play this alice (from the american mcgee's alice series) in the game, so i'd obviously love to see any even very remotely wonderland-related characters in the game.

the game is basically about being stuck on a train that takes the characters to various worlds where they have to carry out missions, so it's a good mix of both plot and more sol-ish stuff. the ac is two threads with five comments from your character in each, and the pace is definitely mediumish, so it should suit your preferences!

Would you say it's the kind of game where if you have a slow week or two you'd be out of the loop?

it depends on the timing! i'd say usually it wouldn't really matter, though it can be kind of hard if you want to get super involved in the missions since they last for basically one to two weeks once every two months. but if you want to take the missions in a lowkey sort of way, then it won't matter if you're just taking it slow! and outside of the once-every-two-months mission, i'd say being slow never really matters.

I also believe you have the Jade in Avalon, right? I am hoping one day I can get my brain to handle a third character/second game and try and get Floyd's voice to complete the dorm set there. It's been very tempting to try and do.

Thank you! Fingers crossed for one day if I can, I need to do some diving into his card stories to get all the hidden details in them. Also to consider how I play out in Avalon. It's quite a change up of a concept, sounds fun, but also frustrating for magic users to have to start from scratch again. And we know how temperamental Floyd is about... everything.

Honestly, I think the magic and familiars Floyd got in return were fun and interesting, that might soften the blow for him? As a suggestion.

I would be amused at the idea of a familiar that reflected his random mood switches, heh. May I ask what you went with for Jade? I believe I saw in the rules that it had to be based on a canon creature for the character.

Oh, I will say if you look into Void Treckers, considering that the game doesn't do canon updates, and that I am still waiting to see how chapter six ends, I may have to end up dropping Idia if my guesses at him are too far off point. I would hate to get your keen to come in only for me to get rid of him (I hope I won't have to, but I have had to take some guesses on just why he so sad as well as some other lore guesses, mostly for our latest event in game) due to him being so off character. Though I may replace him with Ortho if I do...

But still a warning, just in case.

I went with a tiny sea serpent. Honestly, there's a lot of leeway I think in what they mean by canon. The Azul as an Oceaniad for example.

Oh yeah, I could see how the implications we have might be very off from what a person might have thought about his background before chapter 6. I'll probably be waiting and seeing to see if I can get my brain around how much I can handle a second game.

Oh wonderful. I would be heavily amused if gave Floyd a little octopus/kraken with him. No doubt much comments on how squishy it is, just like Azul, heh.

This is a horrible month for me... but I am trying to write up something for Avalon's TDM for Floyd (though still need to make him an account), so fingers crossed I can do that, despite having a busy month in Void Trecker to come for another character. Mostly to voice test him, see if I can get it right, more so than planning to app this month. Though maybe in future if I'm able to get his voice talking right for me.

I will ask, as I saw briefly in the FAQ for the game, but since you have one of the merboys in game, how you finding the transformations for them? I assume they still got their typical abilities to swim normally in game in their merforms.

And yeah it's understandable. I think Floyd is probably one of the most challenging TWST people voicewise.

I think the transformation is pretty much the same (I'm kind of assuming it might be automatic in Avalon though.) They just don't get any unique special powers from it. Mod response from when the Azul asked about it if that helps at all.

It's mostly that... Floyd has wonderful moments of seeming to be able to have the perfect idea in a group... when he really shouldn't be the one to do that, heh. Always delivered in his typical way, but being the 'oh shit' moment for others to work something out. He's certainly more the level of chaos in the trio.

I actually think Jade would be very tough with some of the card stories I was reading the other day. His dorm uniform one is wonderful, but just so many steps ahead of others to have his plans work. Floyd is... it just works out at the end, heh.

I did see that FAQ answer, I guess I was wondering if the 'no special abilities' didn't include their swimming speeds (since the twins would be faster than humans swimming) since it's a physical aspect to them.

Yeah Jade is more considered and careful, but also probably doesn't always have the ability to just go with the flow that Floyd does.

As for swimming speed, I think it just wouldn't be anything uh supernaturally fast? Like reasonable levels of being really strong or really fast are more the norm? So like more realistically they would be fast swimmers because their bodies are designed for it? At least that's what I'm thinking?

Ah, that's why they're good together; Jade keeps Floyd out of too much trouble and is the best person to know how his moods can change, and Floyd can drag Jade along when he gets too stuck in the mud. As long as they are having fun together, of course.

Yeah, I'll see how I do TDM, but I doubt I would app this month if I do get his voice down, but was curious to know how the mers were able to use their forms in this world since I see they bringing most people down to human bases (Am so glad I'm not bring my dragon ball character to it... Vegeta would flip his lid). Though I also assume not a lot of swimming for them to do, but I guess that depends on missions and areas of the game world.

I also realize the issue I have for TDM or this game, or just playing Floyd... having to come up with all the fish nicknames for people...

Yeah I know our Azul has used his merform a lot more, usually for various quests and the like. If you want a good example have Azul ice fishing, along with another mer character, Alberto from Luca.

And yeah omg the fish names. I personally think that would be fun, but I can imagine not wanting to accidentally double up or keep track of them all.

I think I will have to keep a chart of who I end up calling who (and I say this as I look at Avalon's app procedure and grabbed images for icons... cause apparently I can't help myself...), but also means I need to pull up just a list of fish to have beside me when I start CR with people, heh.
