February EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / kink you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. [game info]: Escordvi is a panfandom semi-private game that primarily uses invitations to join, but with occasional app cycles that allow asking mods for an invite directly(such as this cycle!). It is a quest based exploration game with a pirate theming and focus on finding and exploring new places, treasure and CR building. Despite the existence of factions(the Armadas of choice being law and order-abiding Paladins or chaos-seeking Corsairs), it is not a competitive factions game.
Turo has been living his best life of adventure for a year now, creating bonds with various people and even finding his own projects to work on. Even though he found himself as a Paladin, the man is part of a Corsair based crew that sail in search of mysteries and lost knowledge to better understand the world around them. He also co-owns and helps run an animal sanctuary with Nanaki(Red XIII) on one of the main Leviathan-based islands.
Has also found himself with a romantic partner, and a handful of people he trusts with the knowledge of his not being human; nor the original Professor.I have had so much fun, and would love to have other Poképeeps around to enjoy an environment that is wonderfully fit for them to be let loose upon. 'An old world filled with older legends and myths, so old that no one knows what is real or not anymore. But there is one myth, one tale that some may say was just a dream… but it is the one they must now all live in.
Ancient beasts and their people waged wars and ravaged the once bountiful lands until the ground split and the waters rushed in, flooding and drowning all who once ruled the now barren surface. All civilizations were lost beneath the unending tides until the angry waters calmed and became still. Only a small handful of land, people, and creatures were saved, protected by mythical leviathans in hopes to one day revive the world. But no one cared for such lofty goals, content to only continue their survival. They would live on their leviathans with only a few deciding to settle on the numerous islands scattered throughout the world, and as time went by two armada factions developed.

And so the people lived—until one day, someone or something found an ancient artifact that opened dimensional rifts to other worlds, forcibly bringing these outsiders to Escordvi to now live amongst its people. These rifts also brought in strange lands and stranger creatures, things that the native people find disruptive and wish to stop.
Of course, there are also those who wish to use this power for themselves.
Rumor has it that there is a special treasure map that could help guide them to the artifact, but the pieces have been scattered all over. Thus a new "hunt" is on to find that artifact, lost somewhere in the Endless Ocean.'

[game info]: In other words, Synflux is a panfandom game that alternates its focus between missions and downtime monthly, allowing for character-building moments as well as serious, world-changing battles. New abilities and gear can be earned through participation, allowing even non-powered characters to fight on even footing. Everyone is welcoming and a delight to play against!
The game has a 60 player cap and is currently at 53.

It's a fun, chill, but eventful game!

[game info]: Pixie Led's just opened! The AC is easy! The TDM is still ongoing, so you'll get samples and initial CR right off the bat! The mods are cool and the game cast is lovely.
Basically, your character's plopped into the world of the Fae, and as our Laszlo said above, the game's meant to be dark fantasy/folk horror. There's also a hearty helping of SoL and lighter subjects so far, too, so it has a little bit for everyone.

[wanted]: I personally would love to see the other members of 31-A, but especially Tsukasa. While I would love to see Megumi and Tama as well, they should be getting more of their backstory on global in 4.2 dropping at the end of this month, so you might want to wait. Given our cast, we'd also love to see Aoi, Yuina or even Higuchi, but honestly we'd take anyone; I'm willing to make any icons for any castmate that wants to apply, too.

So, Iyashikei is an invite only game that is pretty SOL for the most part, and given what some of these girls have gone through... a little break would be a nice breath of fresh air! The 31-A girls have been causing their usual brand of shenanigans and mischief, you know - the usual things they do on their off days, just without having to deal with the Cancer. There's also a school that characters can attend as well as lighthearted quests and events to participate in, too.
Both Ruka and Yuki come from a post-4.1 canon point, so we'd welcome anyone coming in from the latest global release.

[wanted]: Would love to see any of the Phantom Thieves from P5! This includes Sumire, and I know Ren's player would absolutely adore a Morgana in particular. I'm also quite interested in Maruki and Sae from P5.
As for other Persona games, Naoto Shirogane is a big want for me, and we'd love to see any of the protagonists from the modern Persona games for more Wild Card shenanigans. Anyone is loved, though! If someone wanted to bring in Reiji Kido from P1 or Jun from P2, those would be a lot of fun as an Akechi player, and Sho or Labrys from the Arena games would also be a treat, along with Ken as a particular highlight from P3.
That being said, we love the Investigation Team and SEES to bits, and I'm familiar with P1 and P2 and love the characters from those games, too! While Ren's player and I haven't played Strikers, we'd happily welcome characters like Zenkichi and Sophia, and as a Tactica fan, I think Guernica would be fire.

Cloud and Co. are currently running the 7th Heaven aboard their own ship, the AVALANCHE. They've got quite the lucrative business going, and have been building new lives for theirselves while there, while working through the traumas of life under ShinRa.
Reno has been busy at work paving the way for Rufus and fellow Turks, though despite setting up a racket, he's been using it to track poachers and try to work his way into keeping an eye on the powers that be.
I would personally give anything to have a Rude, but Reno misses all of the other Turks honestly. Zack has likewise been the odd man out, so an Angeal, Cissnei, Tseng, or Kunsel would be an equally welcome reprieve to balance out the cast.
DRAGON QUEST: THE ADVENTURE OF DAI @ CHILDREN OF BAHAMUT

[game info]: Children of Bahamut is an invite-only game taking place in a D&D-inspired fantasy world. Characters are bonded with the soul of a dragon upon arrival, gradually becoming more draconic over the course of their stay. The pace is pretty relaxed and AC is check-in only.
Avan and Popp have reached their fifth month in game, which means they can now freely transform into dragons and back. Yes, Avan still has glasses when he's a dragon, you do not even need to ask. The game is currently in the midst of a mem-share event which means Avan just got a lovely view of himself doing a heroic sacrifice and naturally he is coping with this by absolutely not letting Popp that he knows anything about it. Please bring us someone who will make these two stop Matrix-dodging uncomfortable topics, they're too good at it.

Iyashikei is an invite-only game that's opened fairly recently, so you'd be joining essentially right at the beginning. Though powers are not nerfed (so the girls CAN come with their Symphogears), the game is by and large Slice-Of-Life with elements of modern technology and fantasy combined. While we can expect the occasional element of horror, mystery, or adventure to spice things up, the game's main premise is characters showing how simple, everyday acts of kindness, kinship, and found family overcome great hardships.
I am playing Hibiki from post-XV as a canon point. Invites reopen on March 1st

Escordvi is a semi-private, primarily invitation panfandom game set in a "post-apocalyptic" world that is completely covered in water with only a few islands scattered around. While there are various populations and tribes around, there are two main factions called "armadas" that dominate the seas: the Paladins and the Corsairs.
However, this is not a faction game! Thus the game is ultimately about making your own adventure, exploration, and character development building. There is a little bit of plot based on finding some special treasure map pieces that will serve as the "endgame," but those will be doled out slowly and as we see fit. There's no set end time.

No memloss, or power nerfing, and neat items/powers can be bought through an activity reward system known as 'spoons'. Players must choose one of three 'roles' to assign to characters (Legend, Myth, Familiar) and each role comes with its own powers.
Storywise, a mysterious fox deity, Thirteen, invites characters to a pocket realm known as Folkmore. She challenges them via monthly trials (game events) to develop their potential—for good, for bad, or for a little bit of both. These physical, mental, and/or emotional trials span genres—fantasy to horror, survival to romance, slice of life to anything else—with an emphasis on interpersonal relationships.

[game info]: Lab of Nature is a horror-comedy where you can run your character through the blender a little or A LOT. It's up to you! Content ranges from lighter (trapped in candyland, funny antics passing time between experiments) to dark (real life hang man, a monster living in the walls).
Everyone is trapped in a facility and subjected to "experiments". Between experiments, they live in a sterile prison where they can mix with those on the same floor and contact other floors on the network. All under the watchful eye of an evil AI and the fellow prisoners she has recruited via... Brainwashing?

[game info]: Duplicity is a long-running public panfandom sexgame (caveat: no smut AC/FTB is fine) in which characters arrive in the hypermodern dystopian island-city of Duplicity for the purpose of distant overlords called the LIES Project studying their worst traits. They are given the designations of Dominant or submissive and told that they have 3 months to form a legally binding contract ensuring a partnership and cohabitation with a person of the opposite designation (otherwise, they go to jail); while the natives hate and distrust all player characters, submissives are second-class citizens who are expected to obey and cannot own property on their own, whereas Dominants have easier lives but are legally liable for the behavior of their submissive.
Characters have to make quota - having sex or engaging in a sexual act - 3 times a month, every month, but players are allowed to fade to black/handwave sexual encounters if they want to and aren't under any obligation to thread every single one. Dominants are legally responsible for ensuring that the submissives under their 'care' are able to do meet quota, but D/s contract partners don't have to have sex with each other. Dominant/submissive in the city also doesn't necessarily have to correlate with their actual sexual preferences.
Every month, different things happen in the city, making life a little harder for the LIERs (as player characters are known), enabling play of different kinks, changing elements of the setting, or giving characters encouragement to meet quota in different ways. The lore and worldbuilding of this game are super expansive and there's a lot to do even without events, and a huge number of player run establishments and player plots (ex: we just had a Christmas Eve ball held by the Bridgerton cast.
AC is low-to-moderate and requires any combination of 2 of the following each month: 5 comments in a single log thread, open toplevel or network post, 10 comments in a single network thread, or 20 comments in an inbox thread.

[game info]: Sing is a fun, chill (literally) horror/survival game with plenty of space for characters to grow and interact with the setting and each other. You can sink your teeth into the horror one month and chill with some SOL the next, or go hard on terrorizing your character constantly, if that's your jam. Supernatural fuckery, monsters, crazed animals, human enemies, environmental traps, and a whole bunch more have been on the docket already. The player base is active and engaged and also super nice. AC is one log thread of five comments per month; events and tdms/applications alternate months. I’d love for some of Wynonna’s castmates to join her there, it's a great spot for Team Earp!

Small, chill little survival game. There is permadeath so be aware of that. The map is slowly opening up and plot is being unraveled. Characters have been there around a year and half now and are establishing a society with a few hiccups. Lots of Mysteries to try and figure out, or just try to make friends and survive the cold.
Characters are de-powered but can gain new powers at some events.
The AC is super easy (5 comments a month). App cycle is bi-monthly, and we have a tdm going now with apps opening later in the month!
